.223 Over-Barrel Suppressor
If you have ever shot an unsuppressed .223 - you will know how LOUD they are. It's like a thunder-clap right above your head!
Video to left is of my own Outdoor Arms .223 - first shot unsuppressed, and then with my custom fully take-apart over-barrel suppressor.
I estimate suppression to be from 40 to 50% quieter.
Okay, here's the truth. I didn't have ear-plugs - I forgot to take them with me. When I first fired the rifle unsuppressed, it gave me a hell of a fright! That's why I jumped so high!
I had to wait around 5 minutes before filming again, as I couldn't hear anything apart from this horribly loud ringing in my ears!!!
It's fun to watch - just to see me jump so high!!!
The over-barrel suppressor below was part of a challenge where I successfully converted a 6D Maglite into a fully functioning center-fire suppressor (with my own design removable internals) that can be converted back into a fully working torch in seconds.

Stefan contacted me - wanting a .223 suppressor with HEAPS of BLING!
He's a really nice guy - who knows exactly what he wants, and in his own words - 'I want a Rambo Suppressor with BLING!'
The solution - a Mamoth Custom Suppressor - 50mm diameter x 250mm length, internal baffle with 50 suppression ports - custom Quad Muzzle-Brake.
Here's the thing - I DON'T like making center-fire suppressors - and my center-fire suppressors are more for aesthetics (looks) than noise suppression.
Having understood all this, Stefan was still more than happy with a fantastic looking suppressor - even if it only cut the volume by between 10-25%
This work of art is so shiny that it mirrors its surroundings - almost a natural camouflage!

Here's some of the internals I use in these suppressors
Venturi spacer & end-caps. Ready to assemble and fit. Custom threaded flow-through spacer- just beautiful!

Even though I made all the pieces, I can still appreciate precision engineering, especially the Custom Threaded Flow-Through Spacer - it really is a piece of art. To tell you the truth, after making it, I just kept it in my pocket all day - taking it out and enjoying its beauty and symmetry.
Center-fire Over-Barrel Suppressors
Well - here's an over-barrel I made for a Contender 30/30 - shooting subs only. Specs on the suppressor - High Grade Machine Alloy - Only 408 grams weight - that's not even a 1/2 kg!!! - 30mm diameter - 400mm length - 150mm extension past end of barrel - 250mm over-barrel - Spacer that threads onto barrel has 16 flow ports - Seal cap at stock end of suppressor is made from high tensile machine nylon - Muzzle end cap is fully threaded and removable - First suppression chamber has reverse flow Venturi design - Second suppression chamber has internal muzzle-brake with around 20 ports - Finished in deep blue/black anodize.

Every silencer is individually crafted.
Note: Suppressors are most effective with sub-sonic ammunition - below 1050 fps. Ammunition over the speed of sound produce a sonic crack - that is impossible to suppress. Basically - the larger the size of the suppressor chamber, the greater the suppression - and lower noise of the gas explosion only. For this reason suppressors are most effective on sub-sonic ammunition.
