 Anodizing & Electroplating

Even though I individually make every suppressor completely from scratch - it is honestly a unique experience and privilege to create them - especially ones that I have anodized in my workshop.   There's nothing quite like creating and crafting something that can be sold and equally appreciated by my valued customers,

The most common question I am asked in regards to anodizing - is, 'What is it?'

Excellent question, with an equally excellent answer.

Anodizing is a process where a permanent protective and colored coating it literally fused into the surface of the item. It is much better than paint or powder coating. It is scratch resistant and very durable. It is literally a coating of Teflon with the strength comparable to sapphire!

Enjoy :-)

One of the benefits of the anodizing process, is that the protection and color that is literally fused into the piece being anodized - is completely even over the most hard to reach or internal space, as these internal over-barrel suppressors units clearly show - that are especially treated to complement and match the Volquartsen custom 597 stock

Another PCP suppressor - fully anodized inside and out in a deep rich burgundy finish - with multiple internal suppression ports, reverse flow venturi units, twin internal muzzle-brake and custom external muzzle-brake. The rifle barrel mounting kit (far right) is finished with a matte anodizing to eliminate any glare through the rifle scope, whereas the rest of the suppressor is high gloss type II hard anodized. My hand made suppression spacers (middle bottom of photo) are also electroplated in bright steel finish.

Anodizing

Having made my own Type II Anodizing and Electroplating stations in my workshop, I am now able to offer Anodizing and Electroplating services to my customers, for rifles parts - trigger / sear mods, bolts, guards, mounts, railings, etc. etc..

Anodizing is more than putting a brilliant and permanent organic/metallic color of your choice on your item, it actually fuses a special layer of ceramic deep into the pores of the aluminum, that is harder and stronger than the original metal, and very resistant to scratching or marking.

Anodizing is more than putting a permanent color of your choice on your item, it actually coats it in a hard wearing and permanent layer of ceramic - that is harder than the original alloy.

Electro-Plating

I am also able to electro-plate other metal items. Below: Trigger and bolt being electro-plated
